The Due Diligence module is a one-stop solution to your due diligence needs. It allows you to search across multiple databases of the Supreme Court and Subordinate Courts of Singapore and/or the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore (ACRA) in one transaction.

To access the databases provided under Due Diligence, you can perform the searches with payment by credit card (VISA/MASTERCARD).

Legal Workbench Components

Legal Workbench is an integrated environment that allows you to search different types of legal content and multiple sources at a single go.

It provides an efficient and comprehensive research experience across the following areas:

  • Singapore Case Law
    Contains the Singapore Law Reports from 2010, Singapore Law Reports (Reissue) (1965 - 2009), Judgments, Tribunal/Board Decisions of Singapore, The Heritage Law Reports and more.

  • English Case Law
    Contains the complete archive of judgments and PDF's of the Law Reports and the Weekly Law Reports from 1865 onwards, as provided directly by the Incorporated Council of Law Reporting for England and Wales under licence from Eastern Book Company. More information can be found here.

  • Indian Case Law
    Contains the Supreme Court Cases (SCC) from 1969 which provides comprehensive coverage of Indian Supreme Court case law. More information can be found here.

  • Australian and New Zealand Legal Materials
    This content is provided free by AustLII and is available for searching and accessing directly within Lawnet/Legal Workbench. AustLII's vast online databases include cases, legislation and selected secondary materials from all the Australian jurisdictions as well as New Zealand. Any service fee that you are paying is for the services provided by Lawnet/Legal Workbench and not for the AustLII content. More information can be found here.

  • Reference Material
    A stable of secondary legal materials is available, including Singapore and Malaysia's leading academic legal journals, legal updates from leading Singapore and Malaysian law firms, and a variety of textbooks such as Court Practice Manuals for Civil Procedure and Sentencing Practice in the Subordinate Courts of Singapore. More information can be found here.

  • Singapore Legislation
    Provided by the Attorney-General's Chambers of Singapore, the Legal Workbench hosts Singapore's only versioned legislation database, which captures all versions of statutes, subsidiary legislation and selected Government Gazette supplements created after 1 January 1997.

  • Singapore Parliamentary Reports
    A service of the Parliament of Singapore, the Singapore Parliament Reports System makes available in full-text format the official reports of debates (commonly known as Hansard) in the Legislative Assembly of the Colony and later the State of Singapore, and the present Parliament of Singapore, as well as sessional and select committee reports, from 1955.

  • Singapore Treaties
    The Singapore Treaties Database, maintained by the Attorney-General's Chambers, contains records of treaties to which Singapore is a party, including exchanges of letters, memoranda of understanding, and other agreements regarded as treaties under international law. Key treaties are available in full-text format.

New! Practitioners' Toolkit
Taxation Information System

The Practitioners' Toolkit is an application that allows users to research and access up-to-date Taxation of Supreme Court Bills of Costs. This database contains the summaries of taxed bills of costs for cases from 2002 onwards. Users can perform searches by bill number, type of bill, amount claimed, duration of trial/hearing, subject matter and more in a single integrated interface.

In addition, the service offers PDF documents of the Bills of Costs filed by Parties to the proceedings and latest updates when new summaries on Taxation of Bills of Costs are added to the database.

Due Diligence is an integrated service that allows searching across multiple databases of the Supreme Court, Subordinate Courts and/or the Accounting and Corporate Regulations Authority Singapore (ACRA) in one transaction -providing a one-stop solution to your due diligence needs. It replaces the former Litigation and BizNet modules in LawNet.

Due Diligence allows searches on the status of any action or any document filed in the Supreme Court, Subordinate Courts or with ACRA for the following:

  • Execution of Judgment: Bailiff; Writs of Execution

  • Insolvency: Bankruptcy, Companies Winding-up, Judicial Management

  • Actions with different modes of commencements; Appeals: Adm/Writs of Summons/OS/OP/ OM; CA

  • Probate

  • Powers of Attorney

  • Information on Companies and Businesses registered in Singapore: (Credit Checks, Financial Information, People Profile Information; and Bankruptcy Search)
